코로나 19 관련 공지사항 3월17일

안녕하세요?

최근 코로나 바이러스 19로 인하여 어려운 시기를 보내고 계실 학부모님께 안부 인사와 함께 몇 가지 달라지는 학사일정을 보내드립니다.

3월 11일 일리노이 주지사가 250명 이상의 모든 모임과 행사를 취소하도록 권고하고 인근 공립학교도 모두 휴교 및 온라인 학습을 진행하고 있습니다. 그레이스무궁화 한국학교도 이에 준하여 3월 14일부터 4월 11일까지 학생들이 학교에 출석하지 않고 집에서 학습지도를 받기로 결정하였습니다. 각 반 선생님께서는 이미 이메일과 쇼셜 미디어를 통하여 학과 공부와 숙제 등을 지도하고 계시고 가능한 학급은 온라인 수업 진행을 위해 부모님들께 협조를 요청하였습니다. 저희 학교도 온라인 학습을 처음 준비하고 시작하는 것이라 미흡한 점이 많습니다. 선생님들께서 새로운 방법으로 수업 준비를 하고 계시고, 토요일 한국학교 시간에 수업을 진행하고 계심을 학생들에게도 꼭 알려주시기를 바랍니다. 그리고 필요에 따라 4월 11일 이후에도 가정학습이 연장될 수 있음을 알려드립니다. 우리 모두에게 힘든 기간들이지만 학생들이 위기 상황을 대처하는 지혜와 안전지침을 지키며 일상성을 유지하는 법 그리고 어려움 속에서도 서로를 배려하는 따뜻함을 배울 수 있는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다. 학생들과 안전한 공간에서 건강하고 유익한 시간 보내세요.

1. 온라인 학습 기간: 3월 14일 - 4월 11일. 학급별로 다양한 형식의 온라인 학습이 준비되고 있습니다. 부모님들의 협조를 부탁드립니다.

2. 3월 21일로 예정되었던 SAT II 시험이 연기되었습니다. 재미한국학교협의회에서 시험 일정이 나오는대로 시험 일자를 다시 알려드리도록 하겠습니다.

3. 4월 11일로 예정되었던 한국어 능력 시험( TOPIK ) 시험이 취소되었습니다. 본교 자체 모의고사를 실시(5월)할 계획이고 학부모님들께는 응시료를 반환해 드릴 계획입니다. 저희 학교는 2021년도 4월 시험에 응시할 예정입니다.

4. 온라인 학습으로 인해 지출되지 않는 점심비는 학교 휴교와 관련하여 점심을 받지 못하는 학생들을 위한 윌링 시 공립학교 무료 급식에 기부하였습니다. 학생들에게도 알려주시기 바랍니다.

Hello,

We hope you and your families are safe and healthy amidst the recent COVID-19 outbreak. Due to the rapid changes and advancement of the virus, we would like to inform you of our revised schedule.

On March 11, the governor of Illinois issued a ban of all public or social gatherings containing 250 people or more and shut down many public schools in the area, requiring that they go online instead. Grace Moogoonghwa Korean School will follow in these footsteps to ensure the safety of our students as well as that of the greater community. From March 14 to April 11, students are to remain at home as we will switch to remote learning online. Our teachers have already begun sending out their respective course materials and homework via email and social media platforms. We are asking for you and your child’s participation as we transition to this new form of remote learning. This will be a learning experience on both ends as this is our first time utilizing e-learning as well, but we hope you will be patient and understanding with us as our teachers are working hard to make this transition as easy as possible. Please let your children know that Grace Moogoonghwa Korean School will still be in session online every Saturday. Although we know this is an unprecedented and difficult time for all of us, we hope that through this our children will be able to learn to adapt to this new emergency state, behave in ways that protect themselves and others, and treat those around them with even more warmth and generosity. Please stay safe and warm, and we wish you and your families the best.

E-learning will take place from March 14 to April 11, 2020. We are asking you to help us ensure your children can access these online classes.
The SAT II test has been postponed (NAKS will be rescheduled as well, and we will provide you with more information soon).
The TOPIK test has been cancelled. There will be an application for a refund. Our school will provide the TOPIK test in April 2021.
We have donated the unused funds for our student lunches during this online learning period to Wheeling Public Schools and their reduced-lunch packages for their students. We hope you understand our decision and will inform your children as well.
