안녕하세요? 주님의 이름으로 문안합니다 2020년 예기치 못했던 COVID19로 인해 일상 활동의 제약과 변화로 힘든 시간들을 보내셨으리라 생각됩니다. 언제쯤 이런 상황이 종결되고 자유로운 활동이 제개될지 예측할 수 없기에, 불안함이 가중되고 우리의 일상이 위축되고 있습니다. 지금까지 자녀들이 미국 땅에서 한국계 미국인으로 자신의 정체성을 알고 당당하게 자라나기 위해서, 그리고 학생들이 가지고 있는 잠재력을 바탕으로 한국어 학습을 통한 이중언어 구사자로 자유롭게 자신을 표현하고 능력을 펼칠 수 있도록 한국학교를 통하여 한국어와 한국 역사 문화를 가르치는데 앞장서 주신 부모님들께 감사를 드립니다.

2020년 가을학기를 학생들의 안전을 고려하여, 온라인 학습으로 개학합니다. 어려운 여건이지만 우리 자녀들에게 한국어 학습이 지속되고, 한국학교에서 배우는 한국계로서의 정체성 형성의 소중함을 지켜내는 시간이 되도록 가을 학기에 등록해 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 온라인 수업은 지역적 거리에 상관없이 참여하실 수 있고, 소그룹으로 진행되기에 학생 한명 한명과 선생님이 좀 더 가까이에서 관계를 맺을 수 있는 장점이 있습니다. 가을 학기에는 특별활동을 10주간 진행하고, 교내 행사도 새로운 형식으로 기획하여 열립니다. 그레이스무궁화 한국학교는 변화된 환경을 새로운 세계로 나아가는 도전의 기회로 삼고 학생들과 함께 창조적으로 대응하려고 준비하고 있습니다. 부모님들의 응원과 지지를 부탁드리며, 새로운 모험에 초대합니다.

We are now open for fall semester registration! Hello, I am writing this letter to you in regards to the start of our fall semester. It is clear that 2020 has certainly been a difficult time for all of us due to COVID-19. I am so thankful to all our parents for your continuous support of Korean School and your efforts to recognize the importance of our children and their identity as Korean-Americans. We also thank you for your desire to foster your children’s bilingual ability through our Korean School. As many of the public schools in the area have chosen to proceed with remote learning for this 2020 school semester, our Korean School has also made the decision to begin remote learning this fall semester. In spite of these challenges, our hope is that you will continue to support your children’s learning of Korean language and culture by enrolling them in this upcoming semester. One benefit of online learning to consider is that location and commuting distance is no longer an issue. Furthermore, we plan to reduce class sizes for remote learning and ensure more one-on-one time between our students and teachers. Additionally, our extracurricular classes will continue to run for our 10-week-long semester, and our school events such as our writing contest will also take place in alternative formats. Grace Moogoonghwa Korean School and our staff are trying our best to find new opportunities during this difficult time, and we hope you can join us this fall.

대상 (Eligible Grade): 4세~8학년 (Age 4 ~ 8th grade) 수업 시작일 (First day of school): 9월 12일 (September 12th) 수업 일정 (School Period): 17주 (9/12~ 1/23, Sep 12th~Jan 23rd,2021)

수업 방식(Teaching Method) : Remote Learning 으로 소그룹 학급 편성(Small Group) 수업 시간(Class Schedule): 45분 수업 2차례(45mins X2) (학급에 따라 시간 공지) , 특별활동 수업(Special Class): 40분/40mins ( 10주, 9월 중 학급별로 신청/ 10weeks) 수업 내용(Content of course): 한국어, 한국 역사,문화 / 성경 및 책읽기(Korean/ Korean history and culture, Bible, Korean book reading)
