학부모님을 초대합니다.

안녕하세요?

어느새 새학기가 시작되고 몇 주가 지났습니다.

저희 학교에서는 한국어 교육과 역사 문화 수업을 통하여 2세, 3세 자녀들의 정체성교육에 애쓰고 있습니다.

이와 더불어 우리 아이들이 건강하게 자라나기 위한 토양이 되는 학부모님을 위한 강좌와 토론의 자리를 마련하려고 합니다.

지난 5월 세 분의 전문 강사님을 모시고 자녀교육 세미나를 개최하였습니다.

이제 이번 학기에는 강좌에 이어 작은 토론 그룹으로 모이고자 합니다.

좀 더 세밀하고 친밀하게 자녀 교육과 학부모인 저희들을 돌아보고, 서로를 북돋아줄 수 있는 이야기의 장이 되기를 기대하며 안내의 글을 보내드립니다.

이번 주 토요일 , 9월29일 오전 10시부터 11시30분까지 2층 예배실에서 새로운 학부모 그룹을 위한 모임을 갖고자 합니다.

(9시40분부터 커피와 스넥이 있습니다^^).

지난 5월, 세번에 걸쳐서 진행되었던 자녀교육 세미나의 연장으로, 특정한 주제에 대해 좀 더 활발한 토론 그룹을 만들려고 합니다.

결혼과 가족 문제 치료 전문가이신 Julie Dorr 선생님, 여성 인권 단체의 사무국장인 지영주님, 그리고 특수학교 교사인 배형미선생님께서 토론을 함께 진행하십니다.

참여를 원하시는 학부모님들이 많으시면 앞으로 2주에 한 번씩 주제를 달리하여 만남을 갖고자 합니다. 모든 토론 그룹에 참여하셔도 좋고, 관심있는 주제에 대한 모임에만 자유롭게 오실 수도 있습니다.

더욱이, 이번에는 처음으로 영어권 부모님 그룹을 만들 계획입니다. 관심있는 분들의 많은 참여를 바랍니다.

이번 주 토요일, 자녀들이 수업 시작하는 시간에 2층으로 오셔서, 함께 커피와 스넥을 드시면서 이야기의 물꼬를 트는 만남의 장 되기를 바랍니다

Hello everyone,

We started the year off a few weeks ago! Our school has made an earnest effort to further the education for identity of Korean-American by providing Korean language, history, and culture classes to our 2nd and 3rd generation students.

In addition, we are offering a series of lectures and discussions for parents in order to empower and support our parents.

In May, we held the parenting seminars with three guest speakers who are experts in various parenting issues.

We are now launching a series of new group discussions for parenting during this semester.

Through this new program, we hope that we can rethink over our children’s education and and encourage each other as parents. Please read the following for more information:

Time: Sept 29th from 10:00-11:30 (Coffee time:9:40-) Location: upstairs chapel (Grace Moogoonhwa Korean School)

We’ll be having an informational meeting on Sept 29th from 10:00-11:30 in the upstairs chapel (coffee at 9:40) to talk about the launching of our new Parent Support Group. This is an extension of the three-part parenting seminar we had in May, but more of a discussion group focused on a specific topic. We have a Marriage and Family Therapist, a special education teacher, and a Women’s advocate group director as facilitators. If there are enough parents who are interested, we’d like to meet every other week. Parents are welcome to join every group or select the topic of their interest. The exciting news is that, for the first time, we’re planning to include a group for the English-speaking moms. Please join us if you’re interested.
