한국어 수업: 유아,입문, 기초1반,기초2반,고학년입문반, 초급1반,초급2반,중급1반,중급2반,고급1반,고급2반으로 11개 학급으로 운영되고 있습니다. 자세한 학급 소개는 교사 소개에 들어가시면 보실 수 있습니다. 저희 학교는 국립 국제 교육원에서 발행한 재외동포를 위한 한국어(영어권) 를 주교재로 채택하여 사용하고 있으며, 각 학급 상황에 맞추어 맞춤 한국어, 한글기초 상,하 등을 보조교재로 사용하고 있습니다.

Textbooks:
Our school follows the curriculum of 재외동포 한국어 Korean for overseas Koreans (English edition) text books issued by the National Institute for International Education, an organization within the Korean Ministry of Education. When appropriate, 맞춤 한국어 Matchoom Korean and 한글 기초 상,하 Basic Korean I, II are used as supplementary materials.
책읽기 수업
Textbooks:
학생들이 일상적으로 한국어 읽기에 노출될 수 있도록 전교생이 책읽기 수업을 하고 있습니다. 학교에서 지급되던 학급문고용 책은 담임 선생님에 따라 오디오북으로 제작되어 있는 단편 동화 혹은 PDF 파일로 저장되어 있는 책으로 대신하여 진행됩니다. 중급반부터는 작년에 이어 온책읽기를 하고 있는데, 학생들은 학교에서 빌린 책으로 선생님의 진도에 맞추어 한 권의 책을 매주 조금씩 나누어서 읽고 있습니다. 중급반과 고급반은 한국어 수업 2교시에 책읽기를 집중적으로 진행하고 있습니다.
중급1반: 만복이네 떡집, 김미리 글, 비룡소 출판

As a whole school, we are committed to providing students with more opportunities to be exposed to Korean literacy. Each class operates a class library from which students borrow and read books. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, instead of the usual physical books, PDF files or audio books are used at the moment. Starting from intermediate levels, students participate in the“Whole Book Reading” program. This reading program has students read a whole book in Korean language in depth. The homeroom teacher leads the reading over a considerable time which enables the students to have a deeper appreciation of the literature itself as well as the understanding of the Korean context of the book. Reading instruction usually happens during the second period.

특별활동 수업:
1학년과 2학년 학생들은 가을 학기에 동화읽기와 종이접기 수업을 5주씩 듣습니다. 10월에는 1학년 학생들이 종이접기 수업을 임영희, 오준호 선생님 지도하에 받게 됩니다. 학생들이 스스로 접을 수 있도록, 선생님들께서 만드신 종이접기 동영상을 기초1반, 2반 학급 구글 클래스에 올려두었습니다. 주중에 동영상을 보고 따라 접을 수 있습니다. 2학년 학생들은 한글과 영어로 쓰여져 있는 그림 동화책을 오봉숙선생님, 박지민선생님께서 그림책을 펼쳐 놓고 들려주십니다.
뜨개반은 4학년부터 신청할 수 있는데, 박영혜,김병림선생님께서 뜨개 과정을 PPT로 만드셔서 학생들이 설명을 들으며 쉽게 따라할 수 있도록 지도하고 계십니다. 이번 학기에 새로 시작된 특별활동으로 캘리그라피, 수화반이 있습니다. 캘리그라피반은 정상모, 조현주 선생님께서 다양한 재료를 가지고 진행하십니다. 10월에는 한글, 이후에는 한자로 멋진 글자꼴을 디자인해보는 수업입니다. 수화반은 최승주선생님께서 지화와 수화를 가르치고 계십니다. 수화로 대화하는 법과 노래를 배웁니다. 한글타자반은 장운지선생님께서 지도하십니다. 온라인 상에서 한글로 퍼즐을 맞추고, 여러 게임을 통해 한글 타자가 학생들에게 익숙해지는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다. 사물놀이반은 장구, 북 2가지 악기를 시카고 전통예술원 소속 최지나선생님이 지도해 주십니다. 최지나선생님은 이곳에서 태어나 자라신 2세로서 음악을 학부과정에서 전공하시고, 민속음악학으로 석사를 마치신 인재십니다. 사물놀이반을 위한 구글 클래스를 마련하였습니다. 주중에 선생님이 올려주신 장단을 따라 학생들이 복습할 수 있습니다.

Special Activities Classes
Special Activities Classes (10 Weeks/Fall semester):
First and second grade students take five weeks of Picture Book Reading and Jongi Jeopki (Origami or Paper Folding) in the fall semester.
Jongi Jeopki (Paper Folding) with teachers Lim, Younghee and Oh, Junho.
In October, First graders will be in Jongi Jeopki (Paper Folding) class. Teachers created instructional videos the students can watch and follow, which are in Google Classroom folders. You can watch videos and fold them during the week.
Picture Book Reading with teachers Oh Bong-sook and Park Jimin.
Second grade students read along the picture books in Korean and English languages and participate in fun after-reading activities.
Knitting with teachers Park, Younghye and Kim, Byungrim
Students in fourth grade and up can join the knitting class. Teachers provide PowerPoint slides for knitting instruction, which students can easily follow.
Calligraphy with teachers Jeoung, Sangmo and Cho, Hyunjoo
It is a class where you design cool graphic shapes with Hangeul (Korean alphabets) in October and Hanja (Chinese characters in Korean language) in November.
Korean Sign Language (KSL) with teacher Choi, Seung Joo
In this class, Jihwa (letter signing) and KSL will be taught. A rare opportunity to learn to speak and sing in Korean in a new way!
Korean Typing with teacher Jang, Woon Ji
While solving puzzles and playing fun games, students will learn to type fast on Korean keyboard!

Bible Study
지난 해에 이어서, 학급에 따라 성경 필사 혹은 성경 암송으로 진행되고 있습니다.
이번 가을 학기 성경 본문은 두란노 어린이 성경에 기초하여 본문을 요약하고 목차를 따랐습니다.
